Eight-Day Alpine Ski Touring in Greenland.

East Greenland or the “backside” as Greenlanders sometimes refer to it, is one of the greatest wilderness areas in the world with endless numbers of fjords, mountains, glaciers, valleys and lakes. Inland, reigns the world’s second biggest icecap, most of the time crowned by a radiating blue sky and beneath lie ice covered fjords and colorful villages. This eight days backcountry skiing in Liverpoolland offers great skiing days, joyful evenings and sunlight 24 hours per day. Dog sledges bring the group up to the Mountains where we set camp in the middle of nowhere. From our base, daily tours are taken up to the mountains nearby or down to the sea where enormous icebergs lie frozen into the ice. This tour is made for experienced skiers that can handle steep slopes off piste and are fit to walk on the skis or carry them up steep slopes. On the first day the slope is easy and then they get more demanding day by day. Exactly how steep the slopes become depends on the snow conditions and the group’s interest. Two or three routes will be chosen each day.

Greenland Tours

Greenland is a country that lies just south of the Artic Circle, enjoying long daylight hours in the summer and the bright northern lights in the winter. The incredible scenery of Greenland includes scattered icebergs, mountains, deep valleys, lakes, rivers, and colorful villages.

If you take the "A Different World Tour" you will experience the interesting culture of Greenland by visiting a village on the east side of the island known as Ammassalik. The local residents of this village still adhere to the Intuit ways of their ancestors which play a big part in their everyday lives. If your reasons for coming on a Greenland tour were to ski or hike,  you will leave with appreciation for so much more.
